The Charles Paddock Zoo is the ONLY Zoo in San Luis Obispo County and is home to hundreds of species from all over the world. Our facility is home to numerous animals that are part of globally managed programs to preserve animals and their habitats. If you want to engage with some of the world's rarest animals in a fun environment, it's time to plan a visit! Nestled on five acres, in the beautiful surroundings of the Atascadero Lake Park, the Zoo is just one of many fun things to include in your visit to this scenic location. Plan on making your visit a full day of family-friendly fun with a stroll through the Zoo, a picnic lunch and playground time in the park, a walk around the lake, paddle boating, and fishing.
The Zoo is open 363 days a year! (We are only closed on Thanksgiving & Christmas Day.)
