Membership FAQ's

Is my membership good for one year from the date of purchase or for one calendar year?

Your membership is good for one year from the corresponding month of purchase to the following year.

Can anyone use my membership card?

No.  Memberships are nontransferable and are valid only for the person(s) whose name appears on the card.  ID is required for entrance to the zoo.

What happens if I lose my membership card?

You may get a replacement card for $1 by calling the Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo office at 805-470-1382 or by stopping by the zoo front gate during regular business hours.

What happens if I come to the zoo without my Membership Card?

The cashier will ask to see your photo ID to confirm your membership status.  This may take a few extra minutes.

Why must I show my photo ID when using my Membership card to enter the zoo?

This is to prevent misuse of membership cards.  We require all named adult cardholders to show ID to enter the zoo.  We are also mindful of protecting our members should their cards become lost or stolen.

May I transfer my membership to someone else?

Memberships are nontransferable and are valid only for the person whose name appears on the card.

How does the Charles Paddock Zoo reciprocal program work?

As a member of the Charles Paddock Zoo you will receive free or discounted admission to more than 100 zoos and aquariums throughout the U.S. & Canada.  A list of participating institutions is available on our website here.  You may contact us for a hard copy if needed. Please note that the San Diego Zoo and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are not part of this program.

How may I keep up on Charles Paddock Zoo and FCPZ events and news?

As a zoo member, you will receive a regular membership newsletter. You may visit the Charles Paddock Zoo Facebook page or sign up for our mailing list at the bottom of each page on this website.
